Lars Rebien Sørensen

Lars Rebien Sørensen is President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Novo Nordisk A/S. He joined Novo Nordisk’s Enzymes Marketing in 1982. Over the years, he has been stationed in several countries, including the Middle East and the USA. Mr Sørensen was appointed member of Corporate Management in May 1994, and was given the special responsibility in Corporate Management for Health Care in December 1994. He was appointed President and CEO in November 2000. Lars Rebien Sørensen is a member of the Boards of ZymoGenetics Inc. and Bertelsmann AG. Mr Sørensen received the French award Chevalier de l'Ordre National de la Légion d'Honneur in 2005. He is a Danish national, born on 10 October 1954. Lars Rebien Sørensen has a Master’s degree in forestry from The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Denmark in 1981, and a BSc in International Economics from the Copenhagen Business School in 1983.
