Haemophilia expertise without boundaries

The Novo Nordisk Haemophilia Foundation (NNHF) will work to improve haemophilia care and treatment in the developing world by focussing on:
• Increase awareness and diagnosis of haemophilia patients
• Improve haemophilia therapy knowledge and treatment delivery
• Improve prevention of haemophilia complications.
NNHF supports transfer of expertise within the haemophilia communities across international de-velopment boundaries.

Typical examples of projects that NNHF funds are:

Awareness creation
• Educational material for health care professionals, patients, institutions and authorities
• National haemophilia detection programmes
• Haemophilia registry creation.

Capacity building
• On-site training for doctors, nurses, lab technicians
• Field training in developed countries.

Prevention of haemophilia complications
• Programmes to improve operative techniques in surgery.
