NNHF Fellowship Guidelines




Purpose
NNHF offers 4 fellowships per year, each with a value of Swiss Francs (CHF) 25,000 for specialised medical training of physicians, nurses and laboratory technicians from developing countries. The host centre can be chosen by the applicant. It has to be an internationally recognised centre with prove of specialised knowledge in the respective area and provide the required training capacity. The duration should ideally be about 4-6 months.

Eligibility
The applicant should have a recommendation by another person or persons with professional standing, such as the applicant's direct superior, the Head of a hospital/university department, and the Chief Executive of a hospital or Dean of a university. The application should state: Why is the training necessary? What purpose will it serve - for the candidate and the community - after completion? The application should include a CV. Furthermore the candidate has to provide a confirmation letter of the hosting institute approving the time and duration as well as the content of the fellowship training.

Proposals for Fellowship applications must reach the foundation 12 weeks before a Council meeting. The next Council meeting is taking place on 09 September 2010.

Deciding body
The NNHF Council decides at its regular Council meetings whether a fellowship will be granted or not. The Council decision is final and binding.

Expiry
A Fellowship not taken up within one year after approval expires automatically.
